About us..
BMR Performance was established in February 1974. The business was started as a high performance
and custom automotive shop offering fabrication, engine building, performance tuning and automotive
electrical repair. We moved into our current Whittier location in the summer of 1978.
Some of our first projects were conversion, putting a Chevy V8 into an early Land Cruiser being one of it’s

first, long before any “kit” was offered. Conversions became commonplace and included anything from a

Chevy into early Mercedes Benz to fuel injected engines into early street rods and muscle cars.
Over the years, we added custom header and exhaust system design, fuel injection conversions and
restoration along with stocking several product lines related to the performance and aftermarket industry.
Many of the product lines we offered in the early years are currently available along with our own lines

shown on the links page of this site.
BMR Performance proved out design theories that increased horse power along with gas mileage and at

the same time improving emissions before most shops even considered looking at the potential of the

three areas together. Using combinations that we had created and our years of tuning experience, we

offered the customer a performance vehicle they could drive anywhere and rely on for years of service.
Many of our current trademarked product lines are assembled in our California facility and are comprised

of some of the highest quality components available.
Our lighting line, ACRO Lights® is now 16 years old and has proven to be one of the most durable lines
in the industry.
Our wiring and electrical line, ControlArmor®, uses components including ISO certified US made wire
and related items to create one of the toughest harnesses available.
Our protective film, LensGuard®, was first developed for use in agricultural applications and has found its
way into several markets as a safety and damage prevention product.
Our goal is simple, offer high quality products that the end user will have in service for years to come.
